The easy-to-use NIR solu­ti­on from tri­na­miX is pri­ma­ri­ly used in the inco­ming goods inspec­tion of recy­cling and pro­ces­sing com­pa­nies for pla­s­tics. You recei­ve an ana­ly­sis in seconds and can the­r­e­fo­re imme­dia­te­ly make a state­ment about the type of mate­ri­al. The­re are various solu­ti­ons for the recy­cling of pla­s­tics, tex­ti­les & car­pets, as well as for PE-PP mix­tures and the deve­lo­p­ment of NIR-detec­ta­ble masterbatches.

tri­na­miX offers all essen­ti­al func­tions in one app, which is used to ope­ra­te the spec­tro­me­ter. The app and the data­ba­ses are updated auto­ma­ti­cal­ly, and the data is backed up. The cus­to­mer por­tal allows you to ana­ly­ze and export your data and crea­te reports.

All in all, tri­na­miX has crea­ted an NIR solu­ti­on that is cost-effec­ti­ve and very intui­ti­ve to use, and that allows employees wit­hout expert know­ledge to quick­ly gain new insights.

How the spectrometer works

The NIR spec­tro­me­ter is gene­ral­ly pla­ced on the sam­ple and a mea­su­re­ment takes approx. 2-3 seconds. The data is sent to the tri­na­miX data cen­ter via smart­phone or PC. The result is shown direct­ly on the dis­play of your device.

The 10 Pla­s­tics, Pla­s­tics PRO and Tex­ti­le appli­ca­ti­ons can be used off­line for up to 7 days.

For fur­ther ana­ly­ses, data export, etc., the tri­na­miX cus­to­mer por­tal pro­vi­des many func­tions that are con­stant­ly being expanded.

  • PE/PP: If you want to deter­mi­ne the PP con­tent in PE pel­lets, this appli­ca­ti­on is what you are loo­king for.

Limitations

The fol­lo­wing mate­ri­als can­not be mea­su­red, or only with seve­re restrictions:

  • Car­bon black colo­red pla­s­tics absorb lar­ge parts of the NIR signal. It is the­r­e­fo­re not pos­si­ble to deter­mi­ne very dark or black pla­s­tics. If the black colo­ra­ti­on is pro­du­ced wit­hout car­bon black - for exam­p­le by com­bi­ning dif­fe­rent color pig­ments - ana­ly­sis with NIR is pos­si­ble wit­hout restrictions.

  • Metals

  • Pla­s­tics with a high pro­por­ti­on of fil­lers. As a result, the NIR signals can devia­te so much from the taught-in refe­ren­ces that a cor­rect assign­ment is no lon­ger possible.

  • For trans­pa­rent and/or thin pla­s­tics, pre­pa­ra­ti­on (fol­ding, mul­ti-lay­er) is neces­sa­ry and the use of a reflec­ti­ve back­ground mate­ri­al is recommended.

  • A data con­nec­tion to the Inter­net is requi­red to ope­ra­te the spec­tro­me­ter. Some appli­ca­ti­ons can be used off­line; an Inter­net con­nec­tion is requi­red at least every 7 days.
