Textile Sorting Made Simple
– Powered by trinamiX NIR Spectroscopy
Sort textiles in seconds. Start small, scale up when you’re ready.
Discover a mobile, modular solution for fast, on-the-spot textile identification – ideal for small and mid-sized recyclers.
Whether you’re inspecting incoming goods or upgrading to a semi-automated sorting table, the trinamiX PAL One lets you start lean and expand step by step.
Why textile recyclers trust trinamiX
The problem: Blended textiles are hard to sort manually
Mixed fibers lower recycling quality and waste valuable time.
Traditional lab methods are slow and often unavailable on-site.
The solution: trinamiX mobile NIR scanning
→ fast, robust, portable – and designed for the realities of textile recycling.
How It Works
- Point and scan: place the device directly on the fabric
- Press the button: NIR light is emitted and reflected
- Result appears instantly on your mobile app (Android, iOS, Windows)
→ Includes material type, blend ratio, and color-coded sorting guidance
Data is processed in the cloud (MS Azure / BASF infrastructure, encrypted SSL/AES-256)
A modular solution: Start small. Grow with your needs.
Whether you’re running a quality lab or a sorting line – there’s a perfect configuration for you.
Module | Description | Use Case |
---|---|---|
Textiles | Identifies cotton, polyester, viscose, PA, PP, wool, blends and more | Standard use in sorting or QA |
Textiles Sorting | Accelerated version of Textiles for <1.5 sec per scan | High-throughput environments |
Nylon 6 / 6.6 | Differentiates between PA6 and PA6.6 with confidence level and color codes | Textile specialists |
Wool Sorting | Distinguishes wool content above/below 75%, color-coded | Wool recycling or content verification |
Table Integration | PAL One docked in a sensor-equipped sorting table with auto-start | Semi-automated textile sorting |
All applications can be added and combined flexibly. Licenses are available per app on a yearly basis.
What materials can be identified?
Recognized fibers & blends:
- Cotton, Polyester, Viscose, Acrylic
- Polyamide (PA), Polypropylene (PP), Elastane
- Silk, Wool
- Blends like Cotton/Elastane, Cotton/Polyester (with ±7% accuracy)
- Nylon 6 vs. 6.6 (color-coded result with confidence)
- Wool content above 75% (green) vs. below (red)
Limitations:
Carbon-black dyed samples or very dark fabrics may be unrecognizable via NIR.
