K 2025 is over - and what a week it was for circular innovation.

At the BASF booth in Hall 5, trinamiX showcased how mobile NIR spectroscopy enables fast, on-the-spot analysis of plastics and textiles to support Design for Recycling and PPWR readiness.

Solid Scanner was on site throughout the fair, supporting the trinamiX team, engaging with visitors, and discussing real-world use cases from recycling and packaging development across the DACH region.

What Visitors Experienced at the trinamiX Booth

Plastics Recycling Solutions

  • Reflectivity & Sortability Check - measure NIR detectability of colored and black plastics before production.
  • 10 Plastics App - identifies 10 most important plastics, including HDPE and LDPE-
  • Plastics Max App - is able to identify a wide range of about 30 different plastics, including several engineering plastics, some blends and PET-A and PET-G

Textile Recycling Solutions

  • Instant identification of polyester, cotton, nylon, elastane, and blends within seconds.
  • Practical demonstrations of portable analysis for manual or semi-automated sorting setups.

All mentioned applications ran on trinamiX PAL One and PAL Two handheld spectrometers - solutions Solidscanner distributes and supports throughout the DACH market. Only trinamiX PAL One features PA6/66 differentiation with Plastics Max and nylon differentiation with textiles application. The Textile application for PAL Two will be released in early 2026.

trinamiX PAL One also features the following applications:

  • Multi-Material Film App (identifies PE/PA and multilayer structures for recyclability assessment)
  • Correlation App (verifies whether production material matches reference spectra for QA and R&D)

Industry Spotlight

During the fair, trinamiX PAL Two appeared on the cover of Plastverarbeiter magazine’s October 2025 issue - a strong signal of how handheld spectroscopy is redefining Design for Recycling.

Key Takeaways from K 2025

The conversations at Düsseldorf showed clear momentum: recyclability verification is becoming part of everyday design and quality processes.
Packaging engineers, recyclers, and brand-owners are now looking for portable, data-driven tools to validate NIR detectability and material composition directly on site - and trinamiX’s handheld solutions provide exactly that.
