900 – 1700 nm NIR Spectral Range

Covers the lower short-wave NIR region, targeting first overtones of O–H, C–H, and N–H bonds. Well-suited for detecting moisture and basic organic composition with good signal stability and penetration depth. Compared to longer ranges, it provides simpler, more robust measurements with lower spectral complexity.

Typical applications

  • Moisture measurement
  • Agricultural products
  • Basic polymer identification
  • Food analysis

When to choose this range

  • When focusing on water and simple organics
  • For portable, cost-efficient devices
  • When high spectral resolution is not required
  • For fast, routine measurements
